Blog revolution
I’m currently testing a new blog format. Just really playing about at the moment, but I’m aiming for a more professional approach.
I’ve currently got several different blogs on several different sites, including a number of duplicates. Keeping them all going is a bit like that guy at the circus who has several plates spinning, balanced on sticks and he keeps on adding more and more. I don’t have a real lot of time, and I don’t want to spend it logging in and out of different sites.
I’ve been totally inspired by Caitlin Firedragon’s Roaming Tales/Gooseberry Fool blog.
There’s a lot of material out there – blogs, tutorials, podcasts, seminars, books etc. – on how to blog well. I’ve been blogging for years, but as an amateur. That changes.
In no particular order, I’ve found a host, added a domain, installed WordPress, installed a custom theme, tested and tore my hair out, added stub content, signed up as an affiliate on a couple of sites, commenced a few advertising campaigns.
I’ve got a lot of customisation to do yet, but I’m getting there.
If anyone is interested in watching my faltering progress, the temporary site is here: http://www.bookcrosserexchange.com/.
When I get it looking the way I want, I’ll transfer my skyring.com.au domain over and leave the other sites dormant.
